Common Mistakes on the HCG Diet

  • While Dr. Simeon's HCG Diet has helped many dieters and people with weight problems and belly fat lose weight, there are many common mistakes on the HCG Diet that can create unnecessary struggles. People may be correctly following the recommended 500 calorie diet and correctly choosing from the HCG Diet food list, however common mistakes on the HCG Diet can be easily discovered and resolved.
  • Common mistakes can be that one is not eating the foods in the right form. For an example, an HCG Dieter can be eating boneless, skinless chicken breast and/or lean beef along with a salad or the other approved foods on the HCG Diet, but these foods might contain preservatives, toxins and other additives that are found in many foods today.  Many store brand foods contain fillers, sugars, preservatives and other fattening substances enabling foods to be produced fast and inexpensively. In contract, in Simeon's day, chickens were generally purchased fresh and did not contain anti-biotics and preservatives nor did other foods contain fillers and toxic ingredients.  Other common mistakes on the HCG Diet that affect dieters today is that chickens and other foods being chosen are fed or grown using GMO methods (genetically modified organism) and GMO soy.  GMO's are not natural foods. They are genetically modified. Soy can adversely affect the thyroid gland and adds additional carbohydrates in the diet. Also, it serves farmers a cheap feed and can adversely increase estrogen levels in both men and women.  Organic farmers feed their crops and live stock as nature meant for them to receive and that is with animal and plant fertilizers, green grass and natural foods.

  • Another Common mistake on the HCG Diet is fail reading food labels. There are sugars in crackers, fillers in breads, preservatives in chicken breasts and so on and so forth. These must be listed on food labels which makes it easy to spot (provided a label is read).
  • Another common mistake on the HCG Diet is to guess at food portions. The exact amount of protein must be consumed won the HCG Diet which is: 3 1/2 ounces of uncooked protein and 3 ounces of cooked protein. All fat must be removed from a protein source BEFORE cooking.
  • Other common mistakes for HCG Dieters is choosing canned fruits and canned veggies. Only fresh fruits are allowed or canned fruits without sugars, preservatives and other additives. Seasonings can also contain sugar and other ingredients not allowed on the HCG Diet and can cause weight loss slow down or a complete stop of weight loss.
  • Following the HCG Diet exactly means just that and often these hidden common mistakes can make the difference in the success of an HCG Dieter.
  • Beef in most stores vs organic grass fed beef also falls into the category of common mistakes that can affect the HCG Diet results.. Simeon’s mention of beef referred to very lean steak and the ground beef for sale today is NOT steak. Ground beef, even the lean kind, usually has grease, fats, and oils that can cause issues for people on the diet. Dr Simeon’s mention of a salad is another misunderstood listing in his manual. Back in his time a salad was a reference to leafy greens such as dark green leafy lettuce.  Salad consumed by most people today include cheese, croutons, ranch dressing, eggs, olives, nuts and a plethora of other items.  So remember when doing the HCG Diet, be aware of the foods you are eating and eat the most natural ones you can find. If you decide to go organic with your foods, your results will be that much better. We hope that helps those who may be struggling in their weight loss journey and wish you all the best in meeting your goals for a slimmer and trimmer you!
