Handling Hunger Issues While on The HCG Diet

Are you about to start the HCG weight loss diet, or have you recently started? Are you worried about dealing with hunger?

One of the advantages of using hCG while dieting, is that many people don't feel excess hunger while on the diet. It's thought that hCG acts to mobilize the stored fat supply and helps channel an estimated 2000 to 3000 calories per day into the bloodstream. A process like this can provide a great deal of nutrients needed for normal daily activity allowing one to stay on a restricted diet with little or no discomfort. In fact, some people report that they can't eat everything that is allowed!

Although many dieters claim they feel no excess hunger while using hCG, others do feel mild hunger at some point on the HCG Diet.

So, what do you do if you do feel hungry? Does that mean your hCG isn't working properly?

Not necessarily. There are several things to keep in mind to help with this issue.

First, it is important to recognize the difference between feeling hungry and feeling empty. During the diet, the volume of food is less than normal, so actual hunger pangs can be mild or absent while taking hCG. Simeons' theory if that this is due to the amount of calories circulating in the blood stream resulting from the large amounts of fat being released. A lot of people are surprised at how little they find they need to eat.

Second, it is a normal for people to be hungry! We should be hungry when it's time to eat. The period of hunger before mealtime can be difficult to adjust to for those used to eating snacks or meals regardless of bodily needs. A good rule of thumb is to have food prepared ahead of time to reduce cooking and prep time, which in turn can help with the temptation to snack while preparing a meal.

As people go through the HCG Diet, many say they learn to listen to their body and become more aware of not only portion control, but actually feel they get more in touch with what they need. Learning to recognize the difference between true, physical hunger and mere mental hunger is an exciting treat!

Some people experience particular hunger during the first few days or the first week. This hunger can be diminished or completely avoided for many by proper loading. Loading occurs during the first two days of the HCG Diet. These first 2 days encourage HCG Dieters to eat whatever they want, when they want. Especially recommenced are fattening foods which has led some people to nickname these days the binge or gorge days. These load days are a very important part of the diet. The fats consumed during the loading days are thought to saturate the bloodstream with nutrients to sustain the body during the first week while the HCG Diet process begins to work. Loading seems to eases hunger during this transition and hunger during the first week seems to almost always be the result of improper loading.
