Essential Oils & The HCG Diet

The HCG Diet clearly states not to eat any types of food containing absorbable oils, such as fatty fish, butter or hamburger, nor to use oils on your skin while on the diet.

However, you will notice our cellulite treatment recipes, massage oil recipe, and Concentrated Citrus Body Wash contain ingredients known as "essential oils". We want to help clarify what essential oils are and why they are completely safe to use on the HCG Diet.

Essential oils are unlike the oils we eat, such as olive oil, flax oil, coconut oil and oils from fatty fish (better known as essential fatty acids). Nor are they like oils in body products such as jojoba, almond, sesame seed, borage, shea butter, wheat germ oil (Vitamin E), just to name a few. These are actual oils.

Essential oils are known as the "oil of the plant" from which they were extracted, such as "oil of clove", but are not actually oily. An essential oil is the most concentrated form of any botanical (plant, herb, leaf, flower, root, bud twig, fruit, etc) and is generally extracted by distillation. It takes at least one pound (1 lb) of any given plant to create one drop of essential oil which then provides a concentrated dose of nature’s vast pharmacological active ingredients in a single drop of oil (25 mg).

An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant and can be used in perfumes, cosmetics, soap and other products; for flavoring food and drink; and for scenting incense and household cleaning products. GOLDEN ESSENCE™ is ever concerned about helping you get the maximum benefits from your skincare products and providing you with more than just a product. We have incorporated the art of Aromatherapy, which means we have added essential oils for therapeutic reasons to GOLDEN ESSENCE™ Concentrated Citrus Body Wash and in the cellulite recipes we have provided. These formulas are designed to help improve detoxification; increase circulation; reduce cellulite; and tighten skin.

Worldwide there are 3000 essentials oils. Can you imagine how many possibilities there are with these oils? Some of the most popular ones that are helpful in strengthening veins, reducing inflammation, increasing lymphatic drainage and have diuretic properties are: bergamot, cedarwood, chamomile, cypress, geranium, ginger, juniper, patchouli, sandalwood, clary sage, lavender, lemon, neroli and rosemary.

Essential oils are fascinating to study and can be used for all sorts of therapeutic benefits. The cellulite body lotion, the cellulite body scrub, the cellulite bath treatment and GOLDEN ESSENCE™ Concentrated Citrus Body Wash have been clinically tested and approved for their therapeutic benefits.
